|Charmuri Pachodi Recipe – One of the most loved Chaat dish, Bhel Puri is loved by one and all. There is no mention of its Origin, however you can find it in most of the states in India. In Karnataka, Kurmura gets converted to Charmuri. From what we know, atleast people of the GSB community call it so. Let us see how to make a Mangalore version of Bhel called “Charmuri Pachodi” or “Charmuri Upkari”. This quick snack can be made very quickly and doesn’t need any special Ingredients.
Egg lovers add grated boiled egg to this dish to make an Egg-y Version of this bhel also called “Boiled Egg Charmuri”. This is very famous in the streets of Mangalore.

Charmuri Pachodi (Mangalore Bhel), Khaan Paan India
A Quick and Healthy Version of Bhel from South India.
Ingredients
- 4 Cups Charmuri or Puffed Rice
- 1 Cup Chopped Onions
- 1/2 Cup Grated Carrot
- 1/2 Cup Grated Beet Root
- Masala Peanuts As desired.
- 3 Teaspoons Chopped Raw Mangoes Kacchi Kairi
- 6-8 Teaspoons Coconut Oil Recommended for Flavour and Aroma
- 2-4 Teaspoons Red Chilli Powder Paprika
- Salt As per taste

In a Mixing Bowl add the chopped Onions, Grated Carrot, Grated BeetRoot, Masala Peanuts, Chopped Raw Mango, Red Chilli Powder, Oil and Salt. Mix Well. Mixture should be little oily.

Now add the Charmuri (Puffed Rice) to the oily mixture and give a nice quick mix. Charmuri Pachodi is ready. Garnish with chopped coriander and chopped raw mango (Kacchi Kairi). Serve immediately.
