Indian street food is incomplete without loads and loads of cheese. One such popular dish is Cheese Chilli Pizza. The topping is a mixture of Cheese, Chopped Capsicum, Chopped Tomatoes and Onions. This is how it should look.
Cheese Chilli Sandwich is another popular dish. The filling is same to the topping used in Cheese Chilli Pizza.
Coming back to the Cheese Chilli Pizza, we would be using Pizza sauce. However, we can replace the Pizza Sauce with any other sauce i.e. Tomato Sauce if you like it Tangy or Nandos Sauce of you like it spicy. However, if you are using Nandos ensure that you select the right level of spiciness.
The local street vendor in Mumbai would load it with Cheese, however if you are health concious, 2 cubes of Cheese is enough to make it a cheesy affair. Or you can use low fat cheese.
So lets heat the pan and start prepping for our Cheese Chilli Pan Pizza.
Cheese Chilly Pan Pizza
- 1 Pizza Base (You can find this at the Bakery)
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Capsicum
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Onions
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Tomatoes
- Salt and Pepper (As per taste)
- 1 Teaspoons Oregano Powder
- 3-4 Teaspoons Pizza Sauce (Or Tomato Ketchup or Sauce)
In a mixing bowl, add the chopped Onions, Tomatoes, Capsicum and Grated Cheese. Add the oregano powder, salt and pepper powder. Mix well.
Now take the Pizza base and spread some pizza sauce or any other sauce of your choice.
Spread the Cheese and Capsicum Mix we prepared earlier on the Pizza base.
Grate some generous amount of cheese over the top.
Take a flat frying pan, place the Loaded Pizza base and cover with a lid. Cook in on a low flame.
Keep checking the base in-between so that it doesn’t over cook.
Once the base has a Light brown color, take it off the heat.
Cut into the desired pieces and serve with sauce of your choice.
