Lockdown Learning – How to Make Cheese Potato Pockets, Khaan Paan

Hope you all are doing great and staying inside your homes. It tends to get a bit boring and to fight this boredom, Khaan Paan has started this Lockdown Learning Series.

We know its pretty hard to find ingredients, hence we try to keep it as simple as we can without compromising on the taste.

Evenings are not that exciting any more as the Pani Puri, Frankie and Dosa stalls are closed. Limited options for chai time snacking is adding to the agony. So without wasting any further time, let us learn to make Cheese Potato Pockets, a very crispy and tasty chai time snack.

Let us note down the ingredients first.


Ingredients

  • Sliced Bread – Large Size
  • 3 Medium Sized Potatoes Boiled and Mashed
  • 2 Cheese Cubes – Grated
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Mixed Herbs (or oregano, chilly flakes – anything that is available)
  • 1 Teaspoon Chilly Powder
  • 2 Green Chillies finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper as per taste
  • Oil for frying

Cooking Method

Step 1:

Preparing the filling.
In a mixing bowl add the mashed potatoes, mixed herbs, grated cheese, chilly powder, chopped chillies, pepper and salt. Mix well and keep aside.

Step 2:

Cut the sides of the bread.

Sprinkle some water on and press it down to flatten it. Check the image below.

Now take the filling we had prepared and put it in the centre of the bread and seal it along the edges. Check the image below.

Now deep fry them till golden brown. Serve hot with a dip of your choice. Garnish is with some grated cheese.
