Egg Pakoda or Egg Fritters make an excellent Appetiser or a evening Snack. Deep fried in Oil this is not for the calorie conscious, however, can be had as an excellent cheat day snack as Eggs are rich in protein. Also a good match day snack if you have friends coming over for some beer.
So get to the kitchen and heat some oil.
Egg Pakoda (Egg Fritters)
- 4 Eggs (Boiled & Cut into 2)
- 1 Cup Gram Flour
- 1/2 Cup Refined Flour
- 1/2 Cup Corn Flour
- 1 Cup Onions (Finely Chopped)
- 1/2 Cup Coriander Leaves (Finely Chopped)
- 2 Teaspoon Cumin & Coriander Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Chilly Powder (Paprika)
- Salt & Chaat Masala (As per taste)
- 4 Cups Oil (For Frying)
Let get the Eggs Boiling
Take some water in a sauce pan and add the eggs to it. Let it boil for around 8-10 Minutes on high flame.
Once ready, cut it into 2 and keep aside.
Lets Prepare the Batter
In a mixing bowl, add the Gram Flour, Refined Flour, Corn Flour, Chopped Onions, Coriander Leaves, all the spices, salt and some water. Prepare a thick batter. Ensure that the batter is not runny.
Now heat some oil in a frying pan. Once the oil is hot, dip the half cut boiled eggs into the batter. Ensure the entire half is coated with enough batter and drop it off in the frying pan.
Now repeat the above for all the egg pieces. Once they are golden brown, take it off the heat. Your Egg Pakoda’s are ready to be eaten with Lunch, Dinner or with some hot tea in the evening.
For the plating, place the fried Egg Fritters in a plate and sprinkle with some chaat masala and coriander leaves. Serve Hot.
